Workshop Replay: Moving the Spine for Wellbeing
A "Movement Journals" workshop to wake up the spine
I don’t think anyone is surprised by the idea that movement can make you feel better when you’re tight, fatigued, and generally blah.
But often, we complicate it. We think that we need a special class, routine, or habit for good results.
Let’s test that assumption.
In this workshop, I’ll guide you through a simple, relaxed 20-minute movement routine that focuses on moving the spine. We’ll progress through the spine’s energy centers with gentle movements that most people can easily do.
After that, you’ll spend a few minutes journaling about your experience. You’ll be able to directly connect with how the exercise made you feel. If there’s time, we’ll share our experiences with each other.
If all this seems new, don’t worry. I’ll guide you through every step so the practice is easy and enjoyable.

About Julia
I’m Julia, a yoga, Pilates, and meditation instructor in Madison, WI. I’ve been a contemplative movement instructor for over 7 years but I’ve had a personal movement practice my whole life.
In my professional practice, one of my specialties is working with people who are on the hypermobility spectrum. This has given me direct experience with people who have very challenging bodies–bodies with chronic pain, chronic inflammation, circulatory issues, digestive issues–generally bodies that give people a lot of trouble.
After thousands of hours of observing people with even the most challenging physical conditions, I can see patterns. I have a good understanding of how certain movements support and enhance wellbeing.
I bring this deep understanding to my workshops.
