I’m pleased to announce my new 6-week series called “Awakened Yoga: Groundedness and Ease through Somatic Practice”.
Months ago, I started exploring the bridge between the tangible and intangible parts of lived experience. The tangible is obvious; it’s the flesh and bones of our body. It’s our skinned knees and sore shoulders.
The intangible is also obvious. If I love someone, I know this is real. I know fear and anger and sorrow. And I know that I have gut-reactions, intuitions, and a sense that there is something “more”. All of these things are real but I have no tangible proof of them. They live in the invisible world.
My question has been exploring the union of the two. Where do they meet? How can we simultaneously experience the tangible and intangible?
Awakened Yoga is my first experiment to answer this question.
In this 6-week course, we’ll use a simple set of movements, meditations, visualizations, and breath to experience the groundedness and ease that comes with being whole.
Talking about the unseen can be hard so Awakened Yoga is based on the paradigm that our lived experience has three bodies (or three aspects):
Physical Body: The flesh and bones of our body.
Spiritual Body: The essence of ourselves that is beyond our personality. Some religions might call this our soul.
The Energetic/Subtle Body: The bridge between the two other bodies and includes everything from emotions and thoughts to wisdom and intuition.
NOTE: You can hear more about the “Three Body” framework in the video above.
With this framework in mind, we’ll explore movements through all three bodies.
And don’t worry if this framework doesn’t make sense. In this course, experience is key. You’ll move and breathe. With this experience, you can draw your own conclusions
